Phillip Gvozden, MD

Dr. Phillip Gvozden was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. After serving in the United States Army, he and his wife remained in Hawaii where Dr. Gvozden obtained a degree in Biology at Chaminade University of Honolulu. He then attended the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and subsequently completed his clinical clerkships at Waterford Regional Hospital in Waterford, Ireland and Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, MD. thereby obtaining his Doctor of Medicine degree. He returned to Johnstown, PA and completed the Family Practice Residency Program at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Dr. Gvozden began practice alongside his Father in 1999 at 128 Fairfield Avenue under the employment of Conemaugh Health Initiatives. In 2012 he was relocated to the Medical Park under the auspices of Conemaugh Physicians Group. He served as the Chairperson for the Culture & Communications Committee from 2013 to 2015 for that Organization. In 2014 Conemaugh Health Systems was purchased by Duke Lifepoint and Dr. Gvozden continued to practice at the Medical Park until his release in 2024.

Dr. Gvozden, his wife and two daughters have lived in the Johnstown community since 1996. Dr. Gvozden is returning to his Family-owned building at 128 Fairfield Avenue to resume practice and to provide quality medical care to the Johnstown Community as an Independent Family Physician.
